Wheelchair Rugby - Darwin Exhibition Match
In a Territory first, the Australian Wheelchair rugby team will be holding a training camp in Darwin 26-28 July. Two (free entry) public training sessions will be held Friday 27 and Saturday 28 (4pm-8pm) including an exhibition match on Friday 27 commencing at 5pm at the Marrara Indoor Stadium. This will be the final training camp before they head over to the London Paralympic Games to take on the world in the exciting sport commonly referred to as Murder ball.
Ranked number two in the world the Aussie Steelers will be aiming to knock off the USA for the gold medal in one of the most exciting, fast paced sports in the Paralympic Games. The sessions will feature one of Australia’s strongest teams in years with the world number one ranked player Ryley Batt (as seen on the Road to London program) and Territory grown Cody Meakin.
Everyone is welcome to attend. A great opportunity for families, sports enthusiasts and the curious to see one of the most amazing sports on the planet. Come down and support the Aussie Steelers in their bid for Paralympic gold in the gladiatorial sport known as Murder ball.
