Macular Degeneration Information Session

The Macular Degeneration Foundation will present a free information session on Macular Degeneration in Darwin on Friday 29 June. This session is open to anyone who would like to attend and attendees will be provided with detailed information about Macular Degeneration, its symptoms, risk factors, treatment options, the importance of nutrition and lifestyle and low vision aids and technology. A free information kit will be provided which includes an Amsler grid that can be used for testing of symptoms. Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of blindness and severe vision loss in Australia. 1 in 7 Australians over the age of 50 are affected in some way. If you're over 50, if you smoke or have smoked, or if you have a family history of Macular Degeneration then you are at risk.
